George Achard & Fils (ca. 1746 - 1820)

George Achard, a master watchmaker, was born in Geneva in 1746. He founded "Achard & fils" with his father François and brother Jean-François around 1780. They specialised in complicated and enamel clocks, some of which were exported to China under their own name or through intermediaries.

Later, in 1796, George founded his own company, "George Achard & Cie", which eventually became "George Achard & fils". His company produced high quality watches with features such as skeleton, calendar, diamond and repeater.

George Achard died around 1820 in Geneva. His watches are now on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and are auctioned by Sotheby's and Christie's.

This watch brand is for sale and is perfectly suited for a relaunch in the luxury watch market.
